Marcela Luna is an enthusiastic designer with over 17 years of experience, passionate about all things related to visual communications and storytelling, inspired by creative knowledge and innovation, and envisions each design challenge as an opportunity to gain insight into new processes and techniques. Currently, she serves as senior manager for multimedia design at Marriott International, Global Internal Communications. Her duties include delivering highly creative, engaging and elevated visual designs, partnering in creative strategy development and content ideation, as well as assisting with videography, photography, and key projects for senior VP’s and public affairs.
Prior, she served as graphic designer for the Smithsonian’s Office of Advancement Communications and Marketing team, an in-house editorial and design agency, responsible for both print and digital fundraising materials for all 21 museums, nine research centers, and the National Zoo.
In May 2025, she successfully attained a certificate in UX/UI from Google/Coursera and is currently working on an AIGA Design Leadership certification course with an expected completion date of December, 2025. She is a native of Washington D.C and graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from Corcoran School of the Arts & Design. Her hobbies include staying up-to-date with the latest design trends, reading, hiking in Rock Creek Park, and serving her community through her local church and food bank.
